Oakleigh Hi-Fi Cabinet

This is a beautifully clean and contemporary looking, solid piece of furniture. It's a very rare find; a hi-fi cabinet that isn't designed wide and low to suit a TV sitting on top. In today's living room of wall mounted TVs or projectors, who needs a huge bench-like cabinet? There are a few smaller units out there, but they're almost all too small to house a "proper" hi-fi amplifier. This, however, is easily large enough to hold an amp plus a cable/satellite box and gaming console. My one real concern is the ventilation, hence the 4/5 on build quality (though it's really a design flaw.) The cabinet has holes only for routing cables, and no venting for airflow. With my modest amp and a PS3 running inside, it doesn't take long for the cabinet to reach 40'C. The PS3's fan is screaming so loud I can barely hear the TV (even with the cabinet door closed) and the amp is almost unbearable to touch, so I have to crack the door open a few centimetres. This is a real shame, so I'm considering taking a drill the back panel and possible the base to add some "after market" vent holes. Cabling is, as always, a bit fiddly - I'd love to see a cabinet with a removable back panel to save having to drag everything out and then stuff it back when it's all wired up.

Nice unit to hide away Hi Fi, holes in the back for cables and connections could be a bigger.
