Place one of our charming Oakleigh Bedside Tables on either side of your bed and you will see exactly how useful and stylish it can be. This Oakleigh Bedside Table is made from sturdy ash that is lacquered with a special finish to protect against splintering that can occur as wood matures and naturally expands with age. Ash’s physical strength can be closely compared to that of oak, but with several important differences. Ash has a more uniform grain and less knots than oak. This means all the furniture pieces in our Oakleigh range will be less likely to splinter. The three drawers of the Oakleigh Bedside Table have brushed steel handles and are constructed using dovetail joints and tongue and groove frames for extra stability.

The Oakleigh Bedside Table will also go great in the living room on the side of your favourite reading chair. Simply place a lamp and a cup of warm cocoa on top, start reading your favourite book and get lost in comfort.

Our ancestors would laugh to think that solid wood is now a "luxury", but it is! And this is ash, not just pine. To many "solid wood" means absolutely nothing at all. But if it means something to you, yes, this is a basic item of furniture, but built well. For £135 I think it does represent good value for money these days.

Some drawers were stuck in and now they are out don't close properly but I'm hoping this sorts itself out as the wood acclimatises to a dry centrally heated room. Nice to have real solid wood furniture, well finished and good value at this price.

The quality of the product is very good when associated with the price. The description on the website was spot on and I am extremely happy with the purchase. The only thing that could be improved in my opinion is the colour of the tongue and groove back panel needs to be the same as the wood used in the product.

Q: Can you tell me if this a light coloured wood as shown in your photos on the website. So may of the products we have looked at are more golden coloured when seen for real. Linda

Q: Hi there Could you please tell me whether the drawer back and bottoms are made from plyboard or whether they are made from solid wood of the same quality as the rest of the furniture? Also, when you mention tongue and groove backing on the cabinet, is this in ash or a different wood altogether. Thank you Susan
A: The Oakleigh range is made entirely from ash + hardwood, no plyboard or hardboard is used for backs or drawer bases. The tongue and groove back is also constructed from hardwood, which has the same properties as the rest of the unit. Angela
